Propane is a clean burning, eco-friendly, and safe fuel that is widely used to operate industrial, commercial, and residential appliances. At Pinnacle Propane, we offer a wide variety of propane tank sizes that are designed to power anything from a casual weekend barbecue to your home’s heating system.
Below, we have outlined some of the most common size propane tanks that we offer.
A 20 pound tank, or barbecue cylinder, is designed to power your typical household grill. This size tank holds around five gallons of propane and is not meant to power larger home appliances.
A 33 pound tank is a relatively specialized tank that is almost exclusively used to power vehicles, such as forklifts and tractors. Because this tank is designed to operate vehicles, it may not be the best for home use.
Propane tanks ranging anywhere from 120 to 325 gallons are perfect for homes that need power for two to three appliances. A 120 gallon propane tank usually stands upright, while 150 gallon, 250 gallon, and 325 gallon tanks all remain horizontal.
A 500 gallon tank is the most common size that we recommend for heating an entire home. These tanks can heat smaller homes with ease and can even be used for some commercial applications as well. A 500 gallon tank is a great option for smaller homes to reduce the number of fill ups per year.
For larger homes or homes that tend to use more propane throughout the year, the 1,000 gallon tank is a great match. They can easily power an entire home’s heating system, a home generator and run all of your appliances as well.
Underground tanks are a great way to utilize the benefits of clean energy without housing an unsightly tank. At Pinnacle Propane, our underground tanks are constructed of heavy and durable steel and coated to prevent corrosion. Underground tanks range in size up to 1,000 gallons and can be concealed in your yard. Learn more about our underground propane tanks.
